Dubai Opera is an architectural landmark located in Downtown Dubai, designed by Atkins and developed by Emaar Properties. Completed in 2015, the performing arts centre was conceived as a modern-day cultural hub inspired by the form of a traditional Arabian dhow.
The 50,000 sqm building houses a 2,000-seat auditorium with adaptable staging capable of transforming from a theatre to a concert hall or flat-floor banquet configuration. Its façade of curved glass and timber evokes the craftsmanship of maritime heritage, while the interiors balance acoustic precision with refined detailing and contemporary materials.
Dubai Opera has become one of the region’s most recognisable cultural destinations, merging architectural innovation and heritage expression to create a venue that celebrates both performance and design excellence.
